This
is one of the most famous circular treks,
and it is understandable why. Mont Blanc presents
a different landscape on each of its aspects,
from the steep wooded valley side in the Val
Ferret, to glaciers in Chamonix valley. This
is one of the world's finest treks.
Classic
TMB guided trek
The
classic Tour du Mont Blanc is over 12 days,
with 10 days of guided trekking. You complete
every step of the tour on foot, in the more
famous anti-clockwise direction, staying in
huts, lodges, gites and hotels each night.
Extra dates can be run for private groups
of 4 people or more, at the same price.
Highlights
TMB guided trek
Unlike
our Classic TMB, this Highlights of the TMB
trip completes the circuit in a clockwise
direction. This ensures that on this shorter
timescale trek of 9 days with 7 days trekking,
you enjoy a quieter trip as you are hiking
'against the flow', as only c.10% of trekkers
complete the TMB clockwise.
Demi
TMB guided trek
The
demi Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) passes over
the highest passes and most rugged and remote
regions of the whole tour in this spectacular
three day guided trek, with nights in mountain
huts. You start in Les Contamines (France),
and finish in Courmayeur (Italy).
Self
Guided TMB trek
This
option is for those who wish to guide themselves,
but to have the logistic support of our Chamonix
office, the huts booked for you, equipment
stored for your return, and the provision
of route cards, safety information, and maps
for the trek.
This
must surely rank as one of the world's best
bases for a walking holiday. The valley is
hemmed in by sharp granite spires, tumbling
glaciers, and snowy peaks. Each day's trek
has been designed to show you the most spectacular
viewpoints above Chamonix valley.
Gran
Paradiso Trek & Summit
This
is a classic route and is a great mix of challenging
trekking and easy Alpine climbing to reach
the highest point completely in Italy. The
holiday is over seven days, with five days
trekking and climbing. No previous climbing
experience is needed.
Walkers
Haute Route Trek
In
the summer months the famous Haute Route,
from Chamonix to Zermatt, can be made on foot
as most of the deep winter snows have melted.
The traverse requires no mountaineering experience,
as all the skills required are taught to you
by the leader.
Iceland
Fire & Ice Trek
The
memories of a visit to Iceland will stay with
your forever; bubbling mud pools, lakes full
of icebergs, plunging waterfalls and powerful
and wild landscapes. Most of these stunning
landscapes are on the edges of the icecaps,
such as the Vatnajökull.
Corsica
GR20 Treks
The
GR20 follows the watershed of the mountainous
spine of Corsica to cross the island from
the NW to SE, on a rugged and physically demanding
trek. A very good level of fitness is required
for trekking over the relentless ascents and
rough ground.
Mount
Toubkal 4167m is the highest peak in North
Africa, and is a trekking peak involving no
climbing. The itinerary has been designed
for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical,
but involves some easy scrambling and scree
slopes.
Kilimanjaro
Machame trek
Kilimanjaro
is is the Seventh Summit of Africa,
and the highest free standing in the world.
At nearly 6000m high, it is a high altitude
ascent, though essentially a non technical
one. The
itinerary has been planned with acclimatisation
in mind.
Kilimanjaro
& Mount Meru
This
is a four day extension to our standard Kilimanjaro
expedition (see above), to take in the 4556m
summit of Mount Meru. This is a popular option
for those wanting to spend more time in Tanzania;
and to acclimatise even better for Kilimanjaro.
Everest
Base Camp trek
If
it is your first time visting the Himalayas,
this is the most famous, and most popular
trek in Nepal. The trek includes the famous
viewpoint of Kala Patar at 5545m, from where
you see the famous Khumbu Glacier, Everest
and the surrounding 8000m peaks.

our
leader guarantee scheme
In
many Alpine countries it is a legal requirement
for all those paid to lead treks to be qualified
as a UIMLA trekking guide. We guarantee that
all our trek leaders in the Alps are fully
qualified. Some UK trekking companies who
are household names are ignoring this law,
and should an accident occur, you may find
your insurance is invalid. Ask anyone to match
our guarantee that you have a UIMLA leader,
or consider an exodus from their illegal itinerary.
