FEEDBACK:
"Cheers for one hell of a day out. Our Guide
was excellent and knew the area backwards.
By the end of the day I couldn't have coped with
another drop!" Roger P, London

Overview |
 |
If
you love off piste skiing or boarding, and are
feeling limited by the quickly tracked runs accessible
from the lifts, heliskiing is an unmissable experience.
|
 |
This
guided day is ideal for those who want to experience
the high mountains, accessing snow untouched by
other people, with the thrill of travelling by helicopter.
|
 |
Heli
skiing makes you feel like a star as your private
pilot and expert IFMGA Mountain & Ski Guide
takes you to the 'Drop Zones' (DZ's), waits while
you descend, then take you to another pristine untouched
area. |
 |
We
offer a range of options as some clients just want
one drop from the helicopter with a long descent
route, whilst others want multiple drops to ride
as much virgin snow as possible (this is the more
usual). |
 |
You
are equipped with avalanche tranceivers ('Peeps'
/ ARVA's), and your expert Guide will carry the
ropes, full crevasse rescue kit for emergencies,
and will have a mountain rescue radio. |
 |
Dates:
Run on demand any day during the winter season
from early February to late April, for private groups
of between one and four guests. We do not offer
collectives. We offer days with two heli-drops. |

Course
Itinerary |
| In
the morning you meet in our centrally located Chamonix
office, and meet with your expert ski Guide who will be
an expert in backcountry travel and snow safety. Over
a coffee they will talk through the plans for the day,
and the latest conditions. Then it's time for a quick
route safety plan, and sorting out any safety kit that
is needed. There is a great choice of locations to operate
these days, all accessible by a short drive. We can always
find a suitable and safe location to react to the snow
conditions and avalanche forecast. |
 |
| To
get to the helicopter base you are either driven through
the Mont Blanc road tunnel to Courmayeur
in Italy (30 mins approx.). Here you meet your private
helicopted pilot and are shown the helicopter. After a
short safety briefing, and a final kit check, you are
lifted high into the mountains. |
 |
| You
are usually taken to a remote mountain summit for a long,
untracked, off piste descent. Due to the altitude you
are skiing at, powder is preserved due to the very low
temperatures. For your second drop, the guide will now
know your skiing level, so can opt for a harder or higher
run. Whatever your day, you are guaranteed an experience
that you will not forget with some stunning photographs.
Normally the day ends in late afternoon in time for some
congratulatory Aprés! |

adventures are weather and conditions dependant, so occasionaly
