| Did
you not make the summit due to weather and conditions? |
 |
 |
| If
you failed to summit Mont Blanc through weather conditions,
we know how gutting that can be. Even with the best will in
the world, and total itinerary flexibility, we do occasionally
have groups who fail to reach the summit, and how hard they
take it. Most people do not even consider that they might not
make the summit, and their world comes crashing down. This page
outlines the possibilities for a second attempt / a take two
/ a re-booking, to have another crack at the summit. If just
looking at the smug faces of those above makes you wince with
envy, read on... |
 |
| We
offer this special three day second attempt at cost price, as
we respect all the efforts you made to prepare for your first
ascent, and knowing how much the summit means to you. This booking
is ONLY available to clients, who have attempted Mont Blanc
with a recognised provider (we ask for proof for non Icicle
clients) during the past three summers, though really it will
only appeal to those with fresh skills who were thwarted during
the current season. |
 |
| The
prices quoted below are for guiding only, and you need to budget
for accommodation, uplift, huts etc. We are offering the stripped
down price to allow people to select their budget. Some camp
in the valley, others stay in four star hotels. It's up to you
to set your standards. |
 |
| We
offer these re-booking attempts throughout the summer from mid
June to mid September. Dates are on demand during these months,
when the cable cars and huts are open. Please note that this
is just three days of guiding, so provides only one day of guided
time for acclimatisation before the ascent. If you require longer
than this, please book on a scheduled one week course (Mont
Blanc Summits Course). |
 |
The
formula of three days allows flexibility for weather, and here
are some classic options that may suit...
a) Day 1 - Cosmiques Arete, Day 2 - climb to Gouter, Day 3 -
summit and descent
b) Day 1 - Walk to Tete Rousse, Day 2 - summit and back to Tete
Rousse, Day 3 - descend
c) Day 1 - Altitude climb at Midi with night in Cosmiques, Day
2 - summit and night in Gouter, Day 3 - descend |
 |
| As
you will already know, the mountain will largely dictate which
option is the best for you. Some people leave the re-booking
until the last minute to check the weather, and hope that we
source a guide and hut spaces. Others book this in advance to
be guaranteed of the logistics, and hope for the weather. It's
your call. Whatever you choose, for this three day option, we
recommend that you should be at marathon running fitness levels
(sub 4 hours). |
