Multi-activity
in Chamonix
During the summer and winter months, we
operate our flats on a self catering basis, and you can undertake
activities under your own steam, or you can kick back, let us
know what you would like to do, and let us organise it for you.
This page lists some of the multi-activies you could consider.
The Chamonix valley is as popular in summer, as during the winter,
and this page outlines some of the most popular activities. |

Icicle offers everything from a day on
a glacier to an ascent of Mont Blanc or the
Matterhorn. In the winter we also offer ice climbing, ski Guiding

Mountain
Biking
The Chamonix
area is famed for its mountain biking trails, and the most popular
regions are La Tour, Contamines, Les Gets and Morzine. You can
get free mountain biking trail
guide from the Chamonix
Tourist Office. Mountain bike rental is easy either from near
the chalet, or in Chamonix town.
You can choose
from all levels of bike, so can get a suitable frame and suspension
for your prefered types of descents (or ascents). Cable cars
in the Chamonix valley are very
bike friendly, so no worries if you want to avoid any uphill
all week! |

Canyonning...
There are many gorges and ravines close
to Chamonix
that are great for canyonning. A mountain Guide is the leader
for the day, and they can take
up to six clients (depending on the
grade of the canyonning descent). Based on this ratio, the cost
per person is £50 per person, which
includes all transport, the cost of the Guide for the day, and
the rental of a wetsuit and helmet. A
very popular first canyonning descent is the Emmosson river
on the
border with Switzerland. |

Paragliding
All our paragliding flights are organised
by Alain, who
is both a Mountain Guide and Paragliding Instructor, not to
mention that he has also climbed Everest! The most popular flight
for a first time is from Planpraz in the
Aiguilles Rouges, down to Chamonix.
The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes, and you get amazing
views across to Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi. The price
for this flight is 90 Euros, and
included the
use of all the equipment and pilots costs. For other flight
details, see our main website paragliding page. |

White
Water Rafting...
The river in Chamonix
is fairly quiet, but descend towards Le Fayet, and it becomes
a white water rapid, as does the river running through
Courmayeur on the
Italian side of Mont Blanc. A full day in Italy or France, with
transportation and equipment (buoyancy aid etc) costs 100 Euros
each. This really is a day to remember, and you will be taken
to the best rapids, under the watchful
eye of a qualified white water instructor. The price can be
lowered if there is a large group of six or more, so contact
us for more details. |
