Climbing Week
If your previous experience of ice climbing is a Scottish snowed up rock climb
or a day climbing out of crevasses on a glacier, this week will blow you away.
The Chamonix valley itself has over 300 icefalls, and within an hours drive you
can reach an additional 1000 icefalls in Italy or Switzerland. This course gives
you the chance to select some of the best and most famous ice or Alpine routes
to ascend over the week. If you want to devote every daylight hour to climbing
some of the best ice that Europe has to offer, then this course is the one for
you. Unlike other operators we do not limit you to one specific location or a
maximum grade of climb, so you will travel to the area with the best conditions
and climb as hard as you can. Clients on this course usually have some experience
of climbing with technical ice axes, but want to push their grade, develop leading
skills (or protection placement), or experience climbing Alpine routes and gullies
at altitude in winter conditions. The course itinerary is flexible, with routes
matched to your skills and aspirations, allowing you to ascend anyting from free
standing waterfall ice columns, to long multi pitch snow routes and ice curtains.
This course can be run every week from mid January to the early March each year. |
